Know the output before choosing
Regular Fill Pieces, Not Random Shredded Flakes
The spiral or threaded roller-knife arrangement cuts foam in stages. It is intended for pillow, cushion and soft-furniture filling when a more consistent stick or rectangular particle is preferred. It should not be described as a plastic pelletizer or as a screen-controlled foam shredder.
Send the foam type, density, thickness and a photo of the required fill piece. A sample-cut check is the safest way to confirm feeding, size consistency and realistic throughput before an order.
Suitable project inputs
- ✓ PU foam sheets or prepared offcuts with controlled thickness
- ✓ Target sticks / rectangular pieces for loose filling
- ✓ Pillow, cushion, pet-bed and upholstered-furniture filling
- ✓ Standalone cutting or connection to conveying / filling equipment
Two-Knife vs Three-Knife Configuration
Specifications below are transcribed from current supplier documents. Confirm the final electrical standard, belt description, finished-size tolerance and working capacity in the quotation.
| Parameter | Two-knife configuration | Three-knife configuration | Selection meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Working capacity | Confirmed by material test | Confirmed by material test | Depends on foam and feeding conditions |
| Finished size | 5–24 mm L × 10 mm W × incoming foam thickness | 5–24 mm L × 10 mm W × 10 mm H; customization stated | Three-knife cutting gives a defined cross-section |
| Maximum foam thickness | < 40 mm | < 140 mm | Choose from actual feed thickness, not only output target |
| Rated power | 8.75 kW | 12.75 kW | Voltage / phase / frequency to be confirmed |
| Machine size | 2100 × 1150 × 1250 mm | 3200 × 1150 × 1340 mm | Allow safe feed, discharge and maintenance space |
| Machine weight | 900 kg | 1500 kg | Check floor loading and unloading access |
| Belt-width notation | 630 mm | 450 mm & 630 mm | Exact infeed / transfer belt meaning to be confirmed |
From Foam Sheet to Pillow Filling
Prepare foam sheets or controlled offcuts
Feed material evenly onto the conveyor
Roller knives cut in longitudinal and cross directions
Collect, mix or convey pieces to the filling station
A suction fan, buffer silo, mixing unit or pillow filling machine is separate scope unless it is listed in the commercial quotation.
What We Confirm Before Quoting
- Foam family, density, resilience and whether material is new foam or production offcut
- Incoming dimensions, especially maximum thickness and piece regularity
- Target finished length, width, height and acceptable size variation
- Required kg/h, daily working hours and manual or automatic feeding
- Local voltage, frequency, phase, safety standard and factory layout
- Standalone machine or connection to dust collection, storage, mixing and filling
Responsible Capacity Note
Throughput is not a universal number for every foam. Low-density or highly resilient foam can occupy more volume per kilogram and feed differently from dense material.
The final quotation should therefore name the test material, feed thickness, target cut and agreed throughput basis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a foam shredder?
No. This machine uses roller knives and cross cutting to produce more regular sticks or rectangular pieces. A shredder normally makes irregular flakes or chips. Send a sample or target photo so the required result can be confirmed.
Which configuration should I choose?
The compact two-knife configuration is intended for prepared foam below 40 mm thick. The three-knife configuration accepts foam below 140 mm thick and can make a defined 10 × 10 mm cross-section with adjustable 5–24 mm length, subject to sample testing.
Can the output size be changed?
The supplier documents state that cut length is adjustable from 5 to 24 mm and custom cutting shapes can be discussed. Knife configuration and the exact finished-size tolerance must be confirmed against your foam sample.
What capacity can I expect?
Capacity is not published as a fixed promise because output varies with foam density, thickness, resilience, feed preparation and operator rhythm. We confirm the working basis after reviewing or testing a representative sample.
Can it connect to a pillow filling line?
Yes, it can be planned upstream of a mixing, storage or pillow filling system. Conveying, suction fan, silo and filling equipment are separate scope unless specifically included in the quotation.
